Alain Nkurikiye

Founder & Managing Partner

A venture builder, investor and diaspora-capital practitioner with 18 years across entrepreneurship, venture finance and ecosystem development in Africa and Europe. He founded Wajenzi, a digital diaspora investment platform that facilitated 45 investments across seven African countries, mobilised more than €750,000 in equity, supported the creation of 627 jobs and built the 1,500+ member Malaika Pan-African Diaspora Angel Network.

He has advised the African Development Bank, the European Commission, Village Capital, IOM and UNFPA on venture capital, blended finance and diaspora investment — work contributing to vehicles and programmes exceeding €100M. He holds an MBA from Maastricht School of Management. At Dunia, Alain leads fund strategy, LP relations, portfolio construction, governance and impact integration.

Françoise Ellong

Managing Partner — Film, Audiovisual & Creative IP

An award-winning Cameroonian filmmaker, producer and creative entrepreneur, known for acclaimed productions including W.A.K.A and Buried (Enterrés). She has helped build the African creative ecosystem through talent development and sector advocacy.

Her experience spans content development, production, distribution, rights management and the commercialisation of African-owned creative assets. At Dunia, Françoise co-leads investment strategy and is responsible for audiovisual, film and creative-IP investments — overseeing sector due diligence, production feasibility and rights-chain review.

Francis Y. Brown

Managing Partner — Creative IP & Animation

A creative-industry operator with deep experience in animation, film, interactive media and African cultural IP. Through AnimaxFYB Studios he has developed animation projects, multimedia productions and commercially scalable African-owned creative assets.

His expertise spans content development, production management, licensing, co-production structuring, distribution and IP commercialisation, with a deep understanding of studio economics and rights-chain management. At Dunia, Francis leads creative-IP due diligence, sector underwriting and portfolio value creation.

Brings 17 years supporting technology startups and venture-backed businesses across Africa — including investment evaluation, due diligence and portfolio support through Savannah Fund, and mentoring growth-stage founders via the Google for Startups Accelerator.
